Martha Chatham Wakelin

A native of Atlanta, Georgia; Martha grew up as a member of one of Atlanta’s most successful families in the building industry where she had an early exposure to architecture, community development & new home construction.  Martha spent evenings peering over her father’s shoulder as he poured over blueprints at his drafting table and it was her ability to see beyond the blueprint that led Martha into the field of design.  After earning a BS degree in interior design at The University of Georgia, she worked for several years as an Interior Designer.  Ultimately, she found her passion in textiles where her 15+ year career as a textile designer in the floor covering industry has earned her numerous awards for product design excellence.  Martha devotes much of her time on the watch for new trends in all aspects of design and culture and this insight inspires many aspects of her work from color selection to new product exploration and shares this knowledge to create value across market segments in her corporation.
